6th kalma in English

As Muslims, we all know that our religion has 6 Kalmas. Each Kalma has its meaning and significance in our religion and daily lives. The first Kalma is the door to enter Islam and become a Muslim. On the other hand, the remaining 5 Kalmas are essential for maintaining our faith and refreshing our beliefs.

In this blog, we will discuss the 6th Kalma. What does it mean, what is the translation of the 6th Kalma in English, and when and how can we use it?

What is the 6th Kalma?

The sixth Kalma is the last Kalma in Islam and is the lengthiest. It is called ‘Radde Kuffer’, which means to eliminate disbelief. The word Kufr has a vast meaning and can not be described as an action.

It basically means to deny the truth that Allah has revealed through the Holy Quran and Hadiths. So Radd-e-Kuffr means to eliminate Kuffr, which means you should eliminate anything that is not taught by Allah and his Messenger (PBUH).

6th Kalma translation in English?

Here is the translation of the sixth Kalma in English

O Allah! I seek refuge in You, and from that, I should ascribe any partner with You knowingly. I seek Your forgiveness for the sin of which I have no knowledge. I repent from it. And becoming disgusted with disbelief and idolatry, lying and backbiting, innovation and slander, lewdness and abomination, and all other acts of disobedience, I submit to Your will. I believe and declare that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

The basic idea of the sixth Kalma in Islam is to ask forgiveness from Allah for all the bad things you have done. You must seek forgiveness with a clean heart and commit to never committing those sins again.

The 6th Kalma mainly focuses on asking for forgiveness, while the 3rd Kalma is about praising Allah for everything.

What is the significance of 6th Kalma in Islam?

The sixth Kalma – Radd-e-kufr is a way to ask Allah’s forgiveness and end the disbelieve. As mentioned above, Radd-e-Kuffr means eliminating Kuffr.

Kuffr can be anything that goes against the message of Allah. However, the term Kuffr mostly refers to adding someone or thing with Allah, which violates the first pillar of Islam, Tauheed.

If you believe in God’s unity, then there is no room for kufr. However, if you have sinned by performing kufr, you should repent and ask for Allah’s forgiveness.

Explanation from Hadith

The significance of 6th Kalma ‘Radd e Kufr’ can be gauged from this Hadith; Usamah bin Zaid narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The Muslim does not inherit from the disbeliever, nor the disbeliever from the Muslim.” Another chain reports a similar narration.” — Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2107

Explanation from the Holy Quran

In the Quran, it is mentioned that Satan did kufr by rejecting Allah’s command of prostrating in front of humans, Prophet Adam (PBUH). This is mentioned in Surah Sad Verse 74 and Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 34, “And ˹remember˺ when We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam, so they all did—but not Iblîs, who refused and acted arrogantly, becoming unfaithful.”
