We hear Adan five times a day and 1825 days a year, but how many know the Dua for Adhan? The number is shamefully very low.
Allah has made Islam a very easy religion to follow. Adhan is the call to pray Salah and every mosque has a mouzian who delivers Adhan five times a day so that Muslims can come to pray. Adhan is the best reminder of Salah and we should say the Dua after Adhan after its completion.
This blog will educate you on the Dua after Adhan, what the Holy Prophet (PBUH) prescribed doing after Adhan and the benefits of reciting the Dua after Adhan.
Dua after Adhan
Dua for Adhan English transliteration: Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-dda` watit-tammah, was-salatil qa’imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilah, wa b`ath-hu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa`adtahu’
Dua for Adhan English translation: O Allah! Lord of this perfect call (perfect by not ascribing partners to You) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established, give Muhammad the right of intercession and illustriousness, and resurrect him to the best and the highest place in Paradise that You promised him.
Hadith: Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, “Whoever after listening to the Adhan says, ‘Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-dda` watit-tammah, was-salatil qa’imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilah, wa b`ath-hu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa`adtahu’, then my intercession for him will be allowed on the Day of Resurrection”. —Sahih al-Bukhari 614
Explanation: In this Dua for Adan, we praise Allah for his perfection, and no one is associated with him. We praise Allah by saying that he is the lord of everything, including this prayer call and the prayer that the believers will establish. The same message is delivered in the 3rd Kalma.
In the second phase of dua after the adhan, we ask Allah to give Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the highest regard in this world and the world after this one, as you promised.
