Hadith: Abu Hurairah (ra) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to teach his Companions, saying: “When one of you reached the morning, then let him say: ‘Allāhumma bika aṣbaḥnā wa bika amsainā wa bika naḥyā wa bika namūtu wa ilaikal-maṣīr’. And when he reaches the evening let him say: ‘Allāhumma bika amsainā wa bika aṣbaḥnā wa bika naḥyā wa bika namūtu wa ilaikan-nushūr.’”
Explanation: These were the supplications made by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the morning and evening to have a blessed day. We should follow the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) and recite these supplications for a good day.

Translation: There is no god but Allah alone who has no partner; to him belongs the dominion, to him praise is due, and He is omnipotent. O Allah! I ask thee for the good of what this night contains, and the good of what comes after it; and I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of what this night contains, and from the evil of what comes after it. My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from indolence, the evil of old age or of disbelief. My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from a punishment in Hell and a punishment in the grave.
Hadith: Abd Allah (b. Mas’ud) told that when the evening came, the prophet (May peace be upon him) would say: we have come to the evening, and in the evening the dominion belongs to Allah: “Praise be to Allah; there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner”. The version of Jarir adds: Zubaid said that Ibrahim b. Suwaid said: Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu lahu al-mulku walahu al-ḥamdu wa huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr. Rabbi asʾaluka khayra mā fī hādhihi al-laylah wa khayra mā baʿdahā, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā fī hādhihi al-laylah wa sharri mā baʿdahā.
