Surah Al-Falaq

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ | مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ | وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ | وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ | وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

English transliteration: Qul a’oodhu bi-rabbil-falaq, Min sharri ma khalaq, Wa min sharri ghaasiqin itha waqab, Wa min sharri an-naffathaati fil ‘uqad, Wa min sharri haasidin itha hasad. —Surah Al-Falaq

English translation: Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies.’

Surah An-Nas

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ | مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ | إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ | مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ | ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ | مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ

English transliteration: Qul a’oodhu bi-rabbin-naas, Malikin-naas, Ilaahin-naas, Min sharril-waswaasil-khannaas, Allathee yuwaswisu fee sudoorin-naas, Minal-jinnati wan-naas. — Surah An-Nas

English translation: Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, Among jinn and among mankind.’

Hadith: Narrated `Aisha: Whenever Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) became sick, he would recite Mu’awwidhat (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas) and then blow his breath over his body. When he became seriously ill, I used to recite (these two Suras) and rub his hands over his body, hoping for its blessings. —Sahih al-Bukhari 5016

Ayat al Kursi

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌۭ وَلَا نَوْمٌۭ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

English transliteration: Allahu la ilaha illa huwa al-hayyul-qayyoom. La ta’khuthuhu sinatun wa la nawmun. Lahu ma fissamawati wa ma fil-ardh. Man thallathee yashfa’u ‘indahu illa bi-ithnihi. Ya’lamu ma bayna aydeehim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuheetoona bishay-in min ‘ilmihi illa bima sha’. Wasi’a kursiyyuhu assamawati wal-ardh, wa la yaooduhu hifthuhuma, wa huwa al-‘aliyyu al-‘atheem.

Hadith: Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Whoever recites Ha Mim Al-Mu’min – up to – To Him is the return (40:1-3) and Ayat Al-Kursi when he reaches (gets up in) the morning, he will be protected by them until the evening. And whoever recites them when he reaches the evening, he will be protected by them until the morning.” —Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2879

للَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الأَهْلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ وَسُوءِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِي الأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ اللَّهُمَّ اطْوِ لَنَا الأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ ‏

English transliteration: Allahumma anta as-sahibu fis-safari wal-khaleefatu fil-ahli, Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min wa’thaa’is-safari wa kaabatil-munqalabi wa suu’il-manzari fil-ahli wal-maal. Allahumma itwi lana al-ardha wa hawwin ‘alayna as-safar. —Sunan Abi Dawud 2598

English translation: O Allah, Thou art the Companion in the journey, and the One Who looks after the family; O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the difficulty of travelling, finding harm when I return, and unhappiness in what I see coming to my family and property. O Allah, make the length of his journey short for us, and the journey easy for us.

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ سَهْلَ إِلاَّ مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً

Dua for family happiness in English: Allāhumma lā saḥla illā ma ja`altahu saḥla wa anta taj`alu ‘l-ḥazna idhā shi’ta saḥla.

Translation: O Allah, there is no ease other than what You make easy. If You please, You ease sorrow.
